New from Snow Performance is the only system proven to increase fuel economy in all load states ƒ?? empty or while towing. Special mapping and the most sophisticated 2d digital controller available result in 1-3 MPG increases! The MPG-MAXƒ?› system does not require a sustained high load state in order to provide maximum fuel economy gains. The MPG-MAXƒ?› system uses a new injection management controller that allows for a small, steady spray of water/methanol to be injected across the entire power curve, at anything over normal cruising boost. This provides an increase in combustion efficiency which provides more power without injecting more diesel fuel. This increase in efficiency translates into an increase in fuel economy. Typical fuel economy increases are 10%-15% or 1-3 MPG.

The MPG-MAXƒ?› system has a secondary output that is used to activate a Power Mode. The more sophisticated microprocessor introduces a independently mapped second stage of injection. A larger nozzle is used to inject more fluid to make more power. The Power Mode activation point is adjustable for best performance. The net effect is smooth power in all engine load states with no combustion quench resulting in a true turn-on-and-forget system.

It also now has a brighter Green LCD screen that displays boost, EGTs, and injection pump output. This means a savings of $200-$300 in gauges you donƒ??t have to buy.

1. What are the benefits of Water/Methanol injection?

1. Greatly reduced EGTs - Decreases of 250 degrees F are common using a 50/50 water/methanol mix. Increased EGTs are an engine killer in today's performance diesel world.

2. Why is Water/Methanol injection so effective on Diesels?

Unlike gasoline engines, the power in a turbo diesel is largely a function of fuel. The problem with continually adding fuel is that you create an over-fueling condition and reach a point where the exhaust gas temperatures become prohibitive (over 1300 degrees F). A 50/50 water/methanol mix will decrease EGT's approximately 200-300 degrees F while increasing power 50-100HP.

Power is increased through:

ƒ?› Air charge cooling - Water/methanol usually lowers air charge temps over 200 degrees F. Low air temps makes denser air charge which provides more molecules of oxygen for combustion.
ƒ?› Combustion conditioning - the methanol acts as a combustion catalyst as well as a cooling agent. Water vaporization inside the combustion chamber increases torque and power output through "the steam engine" effect.
